The Organization
The association was founded in 1996 as Emergency Medical Service A1-Ring Austria with the aim to provide rapid medical intervention on the race track with our emergency doctors and paramedics. In 2010 the organization was renamed Emergency Medical Service sports Austria.
Our Mission
Our actions serve the processing of medical injury patterns and their documentation, as well as the further development and optimization of the initial treatment of injured persons in motorsports according to the latest rapid medical intervention knowledge.
Our Values
The fulfillment of our tasks requires a high level of performance, because it is not just a job, but a commitment to people, who are always treated with respect and dignity.
Our Vision
Through regular training, attendance at congresses and the provision of continuing education material, our members are always on top of newest emergency medicine. The experience we gain allows us to continually improve our work.

Opening of the Österreichring
1970 – 1990
Medical treatment by doctors of the LKH Wolfsberg and the LKH Leoben
1991
Founding of the Club of Doctors at the Österreichring
1996
Commissioning of the A1-Ring Austria
1996
Founding of the association Emergency Medical Service A1-Ring Austria
1997
Return of Formula 1 to the rebuilt A1 Ring in Spielberg.
2010
Renaming of the association to Emergency Medical Service sports Austria
2011
Commissioning of the Red bull Ring.
2014
Return of the Formula 1 to the Red Bull Ring.
2015
The first Trauma Life Support in Motorsport course takes place at the Red Bull Ring.
2016
Return of the MotoGP to the Red Bull Ring.
2020 – 2021
First Formula 1 and MotoGP double header in the history of the circuit.
